GUEST RIVER GORGE
Guest River Gorge is a scenic Rail-to-Trails project that begins in the Flatwoods section of Coeburn just off Rt. 72 and ends 5.8 miles downstream with the confluence of the Guest and Clinch Rivers. The Guest River Gorge trail is handicap accessible and enjoyable for all ages and abilities. This trail has many special features including the Swede Tunnel constructed in 1922 by local builders and abundant wildflowers from early spring to late fall. The rush of the Guest River can be heard along the entire trail. The cliff lines along the trail are perfect nesting locations for ravens and some birds of prey. The Guest River Gorge Trail is maintained by US Forest Service.
